Information for Agencies

PH4L is a social enterprise which has been set up to help prevent and reduce homelessness in Plymouth. During the early stages prospective tenants will only be able to access accommodation through PH4L on a referral only basis.

The two referrers at this stage are:

Plymouth City Council’s Housing Advice Service

Prospective tenants would need to approach these services at Midland House to find out whether they could be referred for accommodation through PH4L.

Each prospective tenant will be expected to

• Have a Deposit or Deposit Guarantee at the value of one months rent
• Have raised one months rent in advance, payable on or before the 1st day of the tenancy
• Be able to provide the following information
• Proof of Income
• Proof of ID
• A reference from a landlord or key-worker

In addition to this the following checks will be made

• Searches for any Housing Benefit overpayments
• Searches for Council Tax arrears
• Searches for rent arrears
• Searches on delinquent tenant databases
• Searches for anti-social behaviour
